VINTAGE 2 PIECE CAST IRON TOY HORSE DRAWN "LION IN CAGE" CIRCUS WAGON

Description

The Circus Wagon is drawn by a pair of separately cast horses with hitch and two wheels. The bar system in between them holds them together, but allows them to turn and disconnect from the Circus Wagon. All parts are unpainted and likely reproductions. The wagon has a Wagon has a design of a lion and victorian decorations. The horses are in good condition, but the left wheel on the hitch is warped. It still turns though. The wagon does not have a driver, but the wheels still work great. There is some general surface wear on all parts. Please see all 10 photos above to see the parts from all different angles, and to confirm the condition of each individual piece.

Rare and intriguing "Vintage 2 Piece Cast Iron Toy Horse-Drawn 'Lion in Cage' Circus Wagon."
The Circus Wagon is drawn by a pair of separately cast horses with hitch and two wheels.   The bar system in between them holds them together, but allows them to turn.  (See photos #7 and #8.)  The hitch
easily connects and disconnects from the Circus Wagon.
The horse and gear measure 5-1/2” long overall, 2-3/4" tall (to the top of the horse's head) and 2-1/2" wide.  The circus wagon m
easured separately is 4” long overall, 3-5/8” tall (to the roof of the Wagon) and 2-1/2" wide (wheel to wheel.)
All parts are unpainted.
It is likely that the combo is a reproduction.  It has no maker's mark.
There is a design cast into each side of the Wagon that portrays a lion and victorian decorations.
The horses are  in good condition, but the left wheel on the hitch is warped.   It still turns though.  The wagon does not have a driver, but the wheels still work great. There is some general surface wear on all parts.
